Background

The Amarillo Triana marble is mostly explored around the town of Cobdar, which is located in the region of Almeria - southeastern of Spain. The quarries have a considerable dimension, with large exploration fronts and very uniform layers. The blocks extracted have a large dimension. Despite the size of the quarries, it is estimated that there are large reserves of this marble for the future.


Description

The Amarillo Triana is a yellow coloured marble, with uniform background and medium grain, presenting some irregular darker veinage and some occasional fossils. This is a crystalline marble.

Its main variations depend mainly on the intensity of the yellow colour and the amount of fossils. It is common to find a light yellow coloured with thin fossils, as well as a darker yellow (orange) colour and more defined fossils and veinage.
